The East Coast's biggest comic-con is coming up, and this year I'll be on the show floor. I'm pretty excited.

You can find me at booth 1262 in the Small Press area, where I'll have Hero Business comics and merchandise, along with prints and cards of my artwork. I'll also be sharing a cozy corner booth with fellow "The Line It Is Drawn" artist, John Trumbull.

I'll also be taking commissions at the show on a first-come, first-serve basis. If anyone wants to be guaranteed a piece, just contact me before the show. I plan to get a few done at home to bring along if I have the time. Commissions are $30/per character.

Hope to see you all there!

Lately, a number of fans have requested prints, which I usually only sell at con appearances. But there's been enough requests that I'm making them available for the holidays - or until quantities last.

Each print is 11x17" and suitable for framing, printed on Glossy Paper (80lb Text). And if you're buying as a gift, there are a number of attractive 11x17 frame options on Amazon.com.

You can purchase them in the Hero Business Gift Shop, along with other great Hero Business product offerings. Please note the separate purchase options for SINGLE prints and SET OF 3 prints.

Comic Book Resources ran an article ("THESE DRAWINGS DON'T JUST APPEAR OUT OF THIN AIR") on crediting artists, and it's worth a read, ESPECIALLY to people reposting stuff.

"Last week, we had a Comic Book Characters/Video Game Characters themed edition of The Line it is Drawn. Bill Walko drew an excellent take-off on the Grand Theft Auto franchise with Grand Theft Auto: Gotham City.

You can check it out here:
goodcomics.comicbookresources.…

The drawing has become popular on the internet, appearing on many different video game fan sites and stuff like that. Which is great. Except roughly half of them (probably more than half) do not even credit Bill Walko for drawing the piece. As bad as that is, it is a lot higher percentage than the ones who credit The Line it is Drawn as the source of the drawing, which appears to be roughly zero percent. I haven't seen a single incoming link from a website featuring the drawing, despite it appearing on many different websites. If commenter TJCoolguy hadn't mentioned it earlier today, I would not even have known it was a popular piece."

"The Hero Business" has been nominated for FAVORITE WEBCOMIC in the CBG Fan Awards! With only 5 comics nominated (and a LOT of competition), that's pretty cool.

If you've been enjoying my work, take 3-5 minutes to fill out a ballot and help a brother out:

All votes need to be in by MAY 31st!

Thanks in advance-

"I contacted a plethora of very talented - and very different - cartoonists with a simple challenge: If DC approached you and offered you any DC property - past or present - of your choice to be your own new ongoing part of the DC Universe, what would the cover to the first issue look like?

Fifty-two artists (and then some) responded, and that brings us here - DC FIFTY-TOO, The New DC Universe as imagined by fifty-two independent cartoonists. "

My entry debuts today!

Stop by and say "whuddup!"

Just a reminder... I'll be at two shows in August!

First up is Baltimore Comic-Con, on August 20 & 21.
I'll be at table A184 in Artist Alley.
baltimorecomiccon.com/

A week later is Connecticut's ComiCONN, on August 27th.
With the Stamford Plaza only 25 minutes from my house, that's a nice local show.
www.comiconn.com/

I'll be promoting The Hero Business with comics for sale and some other fun stuff... including free mini-prints!

So if anyone plans on attending and wants a commission, let me know upfront. They're (astonishingly) priced at $20 each.
Here's some samples:

Hey guys,

I'm just winding down the second storyline of my comic, The Hero Business. And after that, I'll be gearing up for the third storyline.

In between storylines, I do done-in-one "coffee break" gags. I thought it might be fun to run some guest strips, too, in the same vein. If anyone would like to submit, please let me know. Of course, I'll provide a link and blurb to support your work.

Here's a few "rules":

1. Read the ABOUT page:
www.theherobiz.com/about/
and a few 'Coffee break" gags to get a feel for the strip:
www.theherobiz.com/category/co…

2. Please keep artwork to fit 740p wide x 760 p high. It can be half that height if you want to work in strip format (740 p x 380 p )

3. Please do NOT use Superman, Wonder Woman and the like. Please DO be encouraged to make up parody characters..... for example, my Batman-like character is Nocturnowl. And I have a sexy Brazilian-style Wonder Woman named Glamazon.

4. have fun!

Send me an e-mail if you are interested. I'm looking to run some guest comics in August/September while I take a summer vacation. ; )

thanks!
