Surfette by BillWalko Surfette by BillWalko
OMG, it's like, Silver Surfer's new sidekick and stuff. This was done for the "Super-heroes get new sidekicks" week of "The Line It Is Drawn"

SS is clearly evaluating the virtues of the crushing solitude that comes from surfing the void solo.

I do love Surfette though, and her get up. Really makes Silvey look especially nekkid. :)

Yeah, SS probably feels nekkid now! Conceptually, I wanted a real deal "Surfer Girl" as a cosmic surfer. :)

In terms of her slang usage, were you a bit inspired by "Valley Girl: The Movie" (1983)?

Moreso modern girl-talk! :) Count how many times teen girls say "like" in a sentence....

Oh, buddy, you have no idea...it almost takes every ounce of strength I have to NOT say "1983 ended a long time ago, ladies! And I doubt the lot o'ya come from Beverly Hills..."

Surfette's dialogue cracks me up, and I really like the clash of surfer clothes to her appearance, but something about the hair doesn't sit right with me. I think it's because it's a bit too similar to Frankie Raye's hair; if it were sleek, like something Platinum from the Metal Men might have, that might look better.
